2015 Flood that occurred at the Lake of the Ozarks highlights potential on going threats what has been done?

Ameren officials opened 11 of the dam’s 12 floodgates at 10 a.m. on Wednesday after the lake rose over a foot the night before. At midnight, Ameren measured the lake at 659.2 feet above sea level. By 6 a.m., the lake was up to 660.3 feet.

What will prevent this from happening again?   Although it only happens once in a great while the expense of these clean ups and restoration of property is an expense that our societies insurance programs have been accustomed to absorbing.   However the pie is divided it is the citizen that takes the burden of the price , premiums, less coverage up or down, it’s a game of numbers I above my pay grade.  But the fact of the boundary  lines being drawn the water is the true test of action and we have been tested twice in 2015-16.
