37 foot speedboat sinks after fire on Lake of the Ozarks

  LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Missouri- A 37 foot boat sank Monday in the Lake of the Ozarks after a morning fire according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The incident happened on the 12 mile marker of the main channel. According to the report, the vessel left a cove at the 12 mile marker heading upstream when the captain, Chad D. MSHP says elderly couple nearly drown when thrown from canoe on river

– An elderly couple nearly drowned on the Big Piney River Monday afternoon when they were thrown from their canoe, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. The incident happened 5 miles south of St Robert. Ernest Massey, 86, from St. Robert was flown by Staff for Life to University Hospital in Columbia. He was in serious condition. Verne Massey, 81, also from St. Robert was transported by ambulance to Fort Wood Hospital. Her injuries were described as moderate. Only Verne was wearing a personal flotation device. Destructive swath of nearly 100 mph winds wreaked havoc in Laclede County and others

The path was possibly 50 miles long and 10-15 miles wide. SPRINGFIELD, Missouri- The National Weather Service says a destructive swath of wind started in far southeastern Laclede County Saturday afternoon. The path was possibly 50 miles long and 10-15 miles wide. This swath of extreme wind continued across northern Texas County, southern Pulaski County, southern Phelps County, western Dent County, and ended in central Dent County. Man found dead in water at the Lake of the Ozarks on Big Niangua Arm

  LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Missouri- A St. Louis man was  found deceased  by a family member in the water late Monday morning on the Big Niangua Arm at the 3.5 mile marker. William Russo, 53, was located face down in the water near a dock and was pronounced deceased by Dr. W.D. Cravens at the scene. His body was taken to Alee Holman Howe Funeral Home. Boy, 11, airlifted after being struck by boat prop on Missouri lake

  MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Missouri- The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an 11 year-old boy was airlifted for medical treatment after a boating mishap on Pinnacle Lake in Montgomery County Sunday. Ashton Yates from St. Charles, Missouri was taken to St. Louis Children’s hospital with moderate injuries. Troopers say Yates fell from the back of a Suntracker pontoon as it was underway.
