Patrol reports nine roadway fatalities over Thanksgiving holiday weekend

JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri- The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports nine people died in traffic crashes during this year’s Thanksgiving holiday counting period–from 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018, through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018. Richland woman seriously injured in rollover crash

LACLEDE COUNTY, Missouri- A 22 year-old woman from Richland was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Highway FF Saturday according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Samantha J. Story was taken to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon following the incident. She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash according to the patrol. LEBANON, Missouri- The first of two Interstate 44 billboards promoting Route 66 in Lebanon has been erected facing westbound traffic at the 134.4 mile marker just west of the Sleeper exit. The billboard’s theme is “Explore the Heart of Route 66.” It includes “The Heart of Route 66” slogan, with logo, that won a 2017 contest held by the Lebanon-Laclede County Route 66 Society. Do not travel in northern Missouri, I-29 closed at Iowa border says MoDOT

JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri – Whiteout conditions in the northern part of the state have closed Interstate 29 from the Iowa border to mile marker 84 in Mound City Sunday.
