ROLLA, Missouri- Kayla Renee Wilson, 25, was found dead in Phelps County Tuesday, January 17th, according to the Phelps County Sheriff’s Office.  Salem Online News says the woman was a Salem High School graduate. Mourners remembered her on Monday in Salem.

 Wilson was found lying in a ditch at the intersection of Phelps County Road 3000 and County Road 3220 at 12:48 p.m. a press release says.

 Deputies were called to the scene after law enforcement after a caller reported the body.
An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of her death.

Wilson’s address was listed as Cuba at the time of the incident. She was a member of the Class of 2010 at Salem High School.

On October 1st a 27 year-old woman’s body was discovered along I-44. Brandy Steinke of Venus, Texas was found deceased by the side of the road near the westbound 171 mile marker between Rolla and St. Robert

Wilson’s death is still under investigation by the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department and the Phelps County Coroner’s Office.
A funeral mass for Kayla Renee Wilson was held January 20, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Salem, with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Her obituary says  she was born November 21, 1991 in Rolla to Paul Gene and Kimberly Renee (Kuhn) Wilson.
