LEBANON, Missouri- Ward 4 City Council challenger Wendy Abdulai put her confidence in the incumbent victor Bob Garner after her Tuesday loss. The outcome was 139-29 in this race that grew somewhat contentious in the final hours with questions being raised on social media about Abdulai’s refusal to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance in protest to treatment of veterans.

“Thanks to everybody for all your hard work!!! As we’ve said from day one, it’s not about the win, it’s about the experience and that it was!
Ward 4 has an amazing representative in Bob Garner. He is an admirable guy who has and will continue to represent us well!
With that said, there are no losers tonight!

Now, we take the experience we’ve all gained from this and get back to work!
I love and appreciate you all!” Abdulai said.

In Ward 1, Ken Eldridge defeated Stephen Marcum and Tanner Hunt.

Ward 3 candidate Randy Wall was unopposed.

“Congratulations to Bob Garner and Ken Eldridge. I also want to thank Stephen Marcum, Tanner Hunt, Randy Wall, Wendy Abdulai, and Jim White for their willingness to serve. ,” the mayor said in a Facebook post.

Less than 10% of the county’s registered voters went to the polls.
