ST. JAMES, Missouri- A motorcyclist from Australia was killed Wednesday on Hwy KK in a crash involving 4 vehicles. Two others were also injured. The incident happened 5 miles east of St. James.
James Tierney, 64, from Queanbeyan, Australia was identified by the Missouri State Highway Patrol as the deceased.
Daniel and Tanya Woodgate who were occupants of another motorcycle are listed in serious condition. Both were airlifted to area hospitals. They are from New South Wales, Australia.
Troopers say the crash happened when eastbound Raul Episnoza from St. James failed to yield when turning. Westbound Tierney struck the Nissan Frontier operated by Espinoza and also hit a Jeep driven by Gregor Gterek from Beltinci, Slovenia. . Tierny was thrown from the bike as he left the roadway.
The Woodgate motorcycle attempted to avoid the crash and left the roadway. Both were also ejected from the motorcycle.
No charges have been filed according to online reports.
