LEBANON, Missouri- The author of the New York Times best-selling Christian book ’90 Minutes in Heaven,’ Don Piper will appear at LifePoint Church on Sunday, April 2nd.
“Some may not believe my account; they may think it was some kind of wish fulfillment during a point of severe trauma. I don’t have to defend my experience. I know what happened to me. For those of us whose faith is in the reality of heaven, no amount of evidence is necessary,” Piper said.
According to his website, on January 18, 1989, while on the way home from a conference, Piper’s car was crushed by a semitruck that crossed into his lane on a bridge. Piper says medical personnel claimed he died instantly. His body was then covered with a tarp. But Piper explains while his body lay lifeless inside the ruins of his car, he experienced “the glories of heaven, awed by its beauty and music.”
90 minutes after the wreck, while a minister prayed for him, Piper says he miraculously returned to life on earth with only the memory of “inexpressible heavenly bliss.”
90 Minutes in Heaven remained on the New York Times best-seller list for more than five years and has sold over six million copies. The book has also been adapted into a feature-length film, released in theaters on September 11, 2015.
Appearances will be during service times at 9:03 and 10:33 a.m. He will be there again at 6:00 p.m. that night. The church is at 195 N Washington Ave.
