DOUGLAS COUNTY, Missouri- The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 76 year-old man from Ava was killed on Missouri Route 76 Monday evening. The incident highlights a startling increase in deadly crashes for this region over the same period last year according to records.

Ronald Uhing wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, the patrol says. He was pronounced deceased by Coroner Rick Miller and his body was taken to the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.

Troopers say Uhing went off the right side of the roadway, struck a fence and overturned.

Trooper MSgt Hogue responded at 8:50 p.m.

This was Troop G’s 29th traffic fatality investigation this year, last year 19 deaths had occurred by the same time.
