LEBANON, Missouri- The city says  utility customers are being targeted by scammers threatening to turn off their utility services if immediate payment is not made. They say to be assured that these calls are not from the City of Lebanon and it’s not the City’s practice to make calls of this nature.

However, the City did launch its new notification system this past week where automated calls and texts were sent out to remind customers that their utility payment was due, late, or subject to cutoff, the city added.

If a customer is concerned about whether a phone call received is legitimate, they are encouraged to call the Utilities Department at 417-532-2345 and speak to a utility clerk.
