LEBANON, Missouri- Lebanon police said that on Wednesday they were called to the Walmart in the 1800 block of South Jefferson for a report of counterfeit money.

The store’s asset protection associate told the responding officer that a fake $20 bill was tendered at the electronic’s counter sometime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. on  Tuesday. The asset protection associate also reported to  the officer he did not know which employee accepted the bill during the 17-hour time frame.

The store can’t identify a suspect at this time, but security told police that surveillance tapes will continue to be reviewed.

The counterfeit bill was taken into evidence by police and the investigation will continue, the report said.
