PULASKI COUNTY, Missouri- The Missouri State Highway Patrol  says a crash Saturday afternoon killed an 86 year-old woman and hospitalized her 84 year-old husband.

Geneva Irene (Satterfield) Goodrich was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pulaski County Coroner Gary Carmack. She was taken to Long_Kloppel Funeral Home.

Bobbie Lee Goodrich, the driver, was transported to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Troopers say the crash happened when the Ford Taurus went off the right side of Highway U and struck a tree.

The couple had been united in marriage for over 60 years in  and  recognized with a state proclamation in 2004 (HR 4594).

The proclamation also honored her for serving forty-five years as a part-time secretary at Goodrich Gas Company, and being a Fellowship Ranch volunteer and member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Habitat for Humanity, and the Ladies Circle at Crocker Baptist Church.

Trooper Wensel responded at 2:25 p.m. and was assisted by other troopers, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and the Pulaski County Ambulance.

This was Troop I’s second fatality investigation in 2017.
