URBANA, Missouri– A three-vehicle crash Saturday night in Dallas County resulted in an Urbana teen being lifelighted and another with moderate injuries. The collision occurred on US 65, just outside city limits according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Eric Weaver, 17, of Urbana was transported by medical helicopter to Cox South in Springfield. He was the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup.
His passenger, Sean Sanderfer, 18, of Tunas was taken by ambulance to Cox South with moderate injuries.
Shawn Clements, 36, of Licoln, the driver of a Dodge Journey SUV suffered minor injuries and was driven to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia.
Troopers say the crash occurred when Clements and another vehicle driven by Ricky Fitzwater, 55, of Urbana were northbound and Weaver was southbound. Clements allegedly failed to notice that Fitzwater had come to a stop while watching his speedometer. Clements then attempted to swerve, crossing the centerline and impacted the left rear of the stationary truck. He then continued and hit the southbound Weaver pickup head-on causing the struck vehicle to overturn coming to a rest on its top off the roadway.
