LEBANON, Missouri- The family of Barbara McCoy, who was discovered by a truck driver unresponsive behind Sutherlands on January 2nd during extreme cold has released a statement. The Laclede County Coroner has determined McCoy’s cause of death to be hypothermia. She was 52.
The statement is as follows:
“We appreciate everyone who has reached out to us privately about Brock’s Mom, Barbara McCoy. Thank you.
We are still going through a lot of emotions. But we are sending out our deepest Thanks to everyone reaching out to us. It’s a lot to process and costly to plan a funeral for someone who didn’t have anything. We have had a lot thrown at us in the last 48hrs.
We the family have set up a Barbara L. McCoy Benefit Fund account at First State Community Bank if anyone would like to go by and donate. It’s to help us cover funeral expenses & burial. If there is any extra money raised we will be donating it to help the local warming shelters that have been opening since this tragic event happened. We Thank them for doing what they have been then last few nights. Makes this tragic event a little easier on us.
Thank you all. We appreciate everything everyone is doing for our family right now.”
