LEBANON, Missouri- The Laclede County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Garry Earl Shidler, 42, of Lebanon for two counts of 1st degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. Shidler was arrested after stealing two Ford Mustangs from two different Lebanon businesses in April (Parson’s Auto Sales and S & S Recycling) . He was arrested yesterday in Lebanon said Sheriff David Millsap.
The Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant for stolen property and drugs at a residence in the 500 block of Texas in Lebanon, where Shidler had been living. During the course of that search, stolen property was recovered relating to a storage unit burglary in Richland, Missouri. Deputies also recovered personal papers, and identification of other persons that Shidler had stolen with the intent to commit identity theft .
Millsap explained Shidler is a person of interest in burglaries and thefts in the Eldridge area, as well a fraud case involving the use of a stolen identity defrauding a local business.
Millsap believes that Shidler, and his associates have been very active in stealing from storage units, as well as burglaries in Laclede County. He is also a person of interest in thefts in Wright County. Investigators have worked diligently to connect the dots regarding Shidler’s criminal activity. “This arrest certainly helps us in our battle against property crimes in the County.”
The Sheriff’s Office will present Receiving Stolen Property charges regarding the search warrant to the Laclede County Prosecutor’s Office.
