LEBANON, Missouri- A GoFundMe account has been set up by Jansen Cheek to aid the employees of MFA after a fire gutted their Lebanon location Friday night. A goal of $1,000.00 was listed.

“On February 22nd 2019 at around 930pm the Missouri Farmers Association (M.F.A.) Agri Services Building (225. S. Jefferson Ave. Lebanon, MO.) was on Fire and burned for several hours while our brave fight-fighters battled the massive blaze, which ultimately destroyed & shutdown operations at the building. This store is a landmark and cornerstone of the Lebanon Community and very important to our local Farmers and Ranchers. The many employee’s that work there, our local friends and neighbors, may not have work for a while. At this time we don’t know when they will re-open or if they will re-open. But if you can’t sell or do business and your building and inventory is gone, it will be hard to continue as normal with payroll. This is especially bad timing since we’re entering the busy Spring Agricultural season too. Lay-off’s are possible, & Unemployment benefits are minimal, odd-jobs and temporary work may not make ends meet, & it takes a long time to find another job. There are so many great employees here who have several mouths to feed while they try to figure out what they do next with an uncertain future. $1000.00 won’t begin to cover all the expenses of the several employees who work at this store, but we need to support these fine employees in their time of need, because they have faithfully served us for so many years. If we meet our goal, the funds raised through this campaign will be distributed to the local store management of MFA Lebanon, to appropriately distribute to the different employees impacted by the shutdown of the store. As an employer, nothing makes you feel better than taking care of your people during a tragedy as much as you can, so this will not only be a special gift from the community to the employees, but also a special gift to the local store management, who will get to be the one to actually give the employees the money from us, the people of Lebanon. If you can’t donate, there are other ways to help, please stay loyal to this store as they recover and do business there again, and at their other stores when you can. If you see an employee of the store, give an encouraging word and be there for them. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Damaging fires are always emotionally devastating and change lives suddenly. We hope to raise the $1000.00 by next Friday (March 1st) so we can get it right to the store employees for their March bills / rent etc.”
