JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri- Governor Greitens says his pick Director of the Department of Natural Resources, Carol Comer, “is going to improve our environment and our economy.”
Greitens says Comer will fight burdensome regulations he says are killing Missouri jobs. Comer says she wants to protect Missouri’s air, land and water quality while still encouraging economic growth.
Fortune says Comer, the commissioner of Indiana’s Department of Environmental Management, had been mentioned as a potential administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency under the incoming Trump administration. Comer was appointed by Vice President-elect Mike Pence, when he was the Indiana governor. According to her official bio, at the law firm Lewis and Roca in Phoenix, Arizona, she represented companies on environmental and utility matters, including insurance recovery, real estate and corporate environmental due diligence. It also says she provided “defense against agency actions,” the article says
“She did it with Vice President-elect Mike Pence and she can do it here!” Greitens said.
