WASHINGTON, District of Columbia- Representative Vicky Hartzler praised the GOP health care plan, “The American Health Care Act” as the House narrowly passed it today in an effort to repeal Obamacare today.

“The American Health Care Act is the first step towards building a fair system that empowers Americans, not the government, to make their own health care decisions. The American people sent us here to relieve them of this burden and this bill is the first step in doing that. No bill is perfect, and I expect more changes to be made to this bill in the Senate. But this is a good start, and I look forward to continuing the process so our country has a patient-centered system that works for everyone.
The AHCA lowers costs, removes government mandates, guarantees protections for pre-existing conditions, and provides the states flexibility and authority to direct resources to best fit their residents. It also allows parents to keep their children on their coverage until the age of 26, prevents lifetime caps, and, importantly, contains provisions to drive down the cost of health insurance so everyone can afford it.” Hartller said.
