ROLLA, Missouri- Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer, Troop I, Rolla, is requesting the assistance of the public for any information pertaining to a fatal hit and run. The incident occurred at approximately 3:41 a.m., on Missouri Highway CC, approximately 2 miles west of U.S. Highway 63, south of Rolla.
According to the preliminary investigation and evidence at the scene, a pedestrian was walking in the eastbound lane and was struck from behind by an unidentified eastbound vehicle. The suspect vehicle will have damage to the left, front fender and bumper area, undercarriage, and the right side.
Video surveillance from a local business close to the crash scene is being reviewed. Troopers are interested in speaking with an unidentified, white male who reportedly stopped at the crash scene approximately 10 minutes after the incident. ROLLA, Missouri- A 60 year-old man was struck and killed by a motorist that left the scene of the incident early this morning. It happened just outside the Fort Leonard Wood military reservation, southwest of Rolla.
The Missouri State Highway says Bobby Cooley was pronounced deceased by Dr. Olusan, and next of kin have been notified. He had been transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.

Troopers say the incident happened when Cooley was walking eastbound on Hwy CC and the left front of a vehicle struck him. The vehicle then left the roadway travelling into a ditch and hitting some trees before it fled the scene. A description of the involved vehicle was not immediately available.
Trooper Cpl McCurdy responded at 3:41 a.m. and was assisted by other MSHP personnel, sheriff’s deputies and ambulance, the report said.
