MONETT, Missouri- The 2018 Lebanon Youth Swim Club went into Monett for the Summer Tri State League “A” Championships and emerged victorious. The Jackets scored well over 700 points as a team, with Joplin second at 530 and Monett third with 386.

12 teams from 4 states compete in the Championship. High point winners included 8 and under girl twins Mackenzie and Kaylee Moore, 10 year olds Missy Mizell and Eli Long, 13 year old Ian Williams and 17 year old Trevor Moore. The Jackets has gold medal relays in the 8 and under girls with the Moore’s, Milly Hough and Evelyn Martin. In addition, the 10 and under girls team of Kennedy Raney, Mizell, Addyson McKnight and Kamilla Windsor took 2 silvers.

The 13/14 boys (Williams, Caleb Whittington, Dakota Windsor and Jaden Moore) and the high school boys (Moore, Quinn Williams, Gavin Schulte, Coy Davis and Noah Long) took gold in all their relays. Some outstanding individual performances included a gold medal 50 freestyle for Emily Willis in the high school girls division and a gold for Hunter Johnson in the 50 fly for 9/10’boys. Lydia Redd and Grace Johnson pulled down several bronze medals for the jackets in the 13/14 girls.

The Yellowjackets continue to gain strength and speed and now have several high school aged athletes vying for National times this fall/winter. Coach Williams said “there has never been a better time to join the Yellowjackets! Come see what a family friendly, highly competitive team can do for you!”
