KANSAS CITY, Missouri (PRESS RELEASE) It is with great sadness that the FBI Kansas City Division announces the Line of Duty Death of Special Agent Melissa S. Morrow. SA Morrow fought a long and courageous battle with brain cancer, and at the age of 48 made the ultimate sacrifice on March 22, 2018.
SA Morrow, who served in the FBI Washington Field Office (WFO) as an Agent and Supervisor prior to serving in the Kansas City Field Office, was a member of the WFO Evidence Response Team (ERT). She was called to serve her country following the attacks on September 11, where she was a first responder to the Pentagon Crash site and the Alexandria Evidence warehouse.
SA Morrow spent 10 weeks recovering and processing evidence at the site, being exposed to many contaminants. SA Morrow has been certified by the World Trade Center Health Program and the 9/11 Victim Compensation fund, and her death is classified as a Line of Duty Death.
SA Morrow served the FBI from September 5, 1995, until March 22, 2018. Her death will be a great loss to the FBI family and the community.
