GARRARD COUNTY, Kentucky- WKYT  reports a Garrard County, Kentucky teacher is accused of overdosing on drugs in his car.

Stanford police say Stephen Grubbs parked his vehicle in a church parking lot of Lee Drive. Police say something happened causing Grubbs’s car to roll down the hill, into a ditch at Lee Drive and KY 150.

A Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officer responded to the call because he was near the scene. The officer says Grubbs was unconscious in his vehicle and Narcan was used to revive him, the report said.

Emergency crews took Grubbs to Fort Logan Hospital. The KVE officer says Grubbs regained  consciousness enough to tell authorities he was on his way back to school when he overdosed.

The Garrard County High School website lists Grubbs as a special education teacher. His Facebook page says he also is a coach.

The KVE officer cited Grubbs for DUI – 3rd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving without insurance.

Acting Garrard County Superintendent Corey Keith says the employee has been suspended with pay pending further investigation. He had no further comments about the situation.
