LEBANON, Missouri- The Lebanon Kiwanis Club posted the following today about concluding another annual shopping benefiting the community’s children in need:
“Another great year of shopping with the kids at Christmas has come to a close. We shopped for 271 kids grades K-8th from all over Lebanon and Laclede County. Wespent just over $29,000 for an average of $107.31 each.
Kiwanis would like to thank all of our volunteers, especially Sara Remmington and Rachel Borgmeyer who shopped all six times. A special thanks to the volunteers for being thrifty and keeping us under budget again this year. We also want to thank Shane, Mark, Bill, Justin, Brad, and Bert with Lebanon Special Road District. These guys are awesome shoppers, baggers, and security and have been there every year that i can remember.
We also really appreciate Lebanon Police Department for having an officer there each day. Those elementary kids can be tough and we appreciate you keeping the shoppers safe We also have to show how grateful we are for Duke Stanton, Laurie, Bob, Peggy, Carol, Debbie, Mellinda, Kim, Beth, Crystal, Christy, and Cheryl and any other staff from Walmart Lebanon – S Jefferson Ave. They are a blessing and we appreciate the effort they put into our program each year. We couldn’t do this without all of you and the generosity of our great community.”
