LACLEDE COUNTY, Missouri- The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Lebanon was struck and killed while standing on Hwy 64, 8 miles West of Lebanon. The incident happened Thursday evening near the entrance to Bennett Spring State Park.
Richard Kanthak, 42, was pronounced deceased by Laclede County Coroner Steve Murrell at the scene. His remains were transported to Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
Troopers say Kanthak was first struck by James Beck, 49, of Hermitage, Missouri in the Eastbound lane. A second car driven by Kenneth Ruble, 69, of Lebanon impacted Kanthak a second time as his body came to rest in the Westbound lane.
There were no other reported injuries
Trooper Sloan responded at 6:20 p.m. and was assisted in the investigation by the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office.
