CAMDEN COUNTY, Missouri– The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports two people are dead and another individual is injured after a Wednesday morning crash on Highway 5 near Dry Hollow Road in Camden County.
Cassandra (Cassie) Reed, 22, of Lebanon was declared deceased at the scene as was the passenger in the other vehicle identified as Dolores Bernard, 86, of Essexville Michigan. Reed was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
“We are planning a Celebration of Life in honor of Cassie Reed on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church at 2400 S. Jefferson in Lebanon. Please join our family and friends to remember our wonderful daughter who has been taken from our family way too early. If you are friends with Cassie please share this and help let all her friends know to attend, we’d love to see a huge crowd come out and remember her.” – Eric Tietze
Troopers say Reed was driving north on Highway 5 when she crossed the center line and hit a car driven by Cheryl Dewald, 57, of Caro, Michigan. Dewald suffered serious injuries and was taken to Lake Regional by Mercy ambulance. The report says both vehicles involved were Chevy Equinox models of different years.
Troopers responded at 8:58 am.
