CONWAY, Missouri- The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Laclede County deputies made extra efforts to secure the Laclede County R-I school Friday after a threat was received.
“The district received a tip late last night regarding a potential school threat. The district took the information very seriously and contacted authorities. Authorities immediately confronted the situation and found there to be no imminent threat. The Highway Patrol has advised us to continue with business as usual.
However, as an added precaution the Highway Patrol and the Laclede Co. Sheriff’s department will be onsite today. Outside activities have also been cancelled for the day. The safety of our students is our number one priority,” the district said in a statement.
