FAIR GROVE, Missouri- A man is dead and three others are injured in a Sunday afternoon crash that involved a high rate of speed according to troopers. The collision involved two vehicles travelling on Route CC near Fair Grove. The crash happened at the entrance to Community Southern Baptist Church.
Devin Robb, 24, of Springfield, Mo was pronounced deceased at the scene by Michelle Waters with the Greene County Medical Examiner’s Office. Passengers of the Dodge Neon, Curtis Chalk, 10, and McKenzie Robb, 4, suffered moderate injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital of Springfield. Robb and his passengers were from Springfield.
The victim in the other vehicle, 65 year-old Connie Nickum from Fair Grove was also taken to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred when Robb struck the vehicle driven by Nickum as it pulled into his path of his speeding car. The impact caused Robb to leave the roadway, overturn and strike a fence.
The MSHP Major Crash Team is investigating the incident and Nickum was tested for alcohol as required by law.
Trooper Richardson of Troop D responded to the scene at 12:30 p.m.
