LACLEDE COUNTY, Missouri- A crash involving three vehicles near the I-44 Phillipsburg exit caused minor injury to two individuals Thursday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported. The incident occurred in the westbound lanes at mile marker 118.

Christi Burch, 51, and Andrew Harper, 17, both of Eldridge were taken to Lebanon Mercy Hospital by ambulance.

Troopers say that Burch lost control of a Ford F150 and ran off the left side of the roadway striking median cables. This caused Robert Nankin, 64, of Wallingford, Connecticut to quickly apply his brakes to avoid a collision, that’s when a semi operated by Sandra Cross of Stroud Oklahoma struck Nankin’s Jeep and pushed it into the crashed car occupied by Burch and Harper. The patrol said all parties involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Trooper Southwood responded at 9:30 am.
