WASHINGTON, District of Columbia– Neil McGill Gorsuch is expected by many to be Donald Trump’s pick for Supreme Court Justice. The Harvard and Oxford graduate was nominated by George W. Bush in, 2006, and confirmed by the Senate for his seat as an Associate Judge of the United States Supreme Court. He is the son of Anne Burford, the first female head of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Gorsuch is a proponent of originalism, the concept that the Constitution should be interpreted as the Founding Fathers would have interpreted it, and of textualism, the idea that statutes should be interpreted literally, without considering the legislative history and underlying purpose of the law.
He has never issued an opinion on Roe v. Wade.
Gorsuch is a Denver native.
