LEBANON, Missouri- An Orlando man said he was nearly ran over and then attacked with a knife by a man that accused him of stealing.

On Sunday, Lebanon Police say they responded to the Wal-Mart Parking lot for a report of an assault. Lebanon Police Department Dispatch told responding officers that a white male attempted to strike the black male with his vehicle, and the white male then threatened the black male with a knife.

Upon arrival, Lebanon  officers said they spoke with with the victim, a 28 year old man from Orlando, Florida. They also took accounts from several witnesses.  The victim said an older white male accused him of stealing and then tried to run him over multiple times. The man said he was then attacked with  a knife. The suspect then fled the parking lot prior to law enforcement arrival, police say.

Video surveillance, still images, and witness statements received on scene identified a 53 year old white male from Conway, Missouri as the suspect.

A probable cause statement was forwarded to the Laclede County Prosecutor’s Office pending charges.
