ROLLA, Missouri- The Phelps County Sheriff’s Department has released the following moments ago:
“On December 23, 2017 at approximately 1830 hours, the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department investigated a shooting incident in the 17000 block of County Road 3520. The victim, Tanya Elaine Johnson, age 34, of Rolla, Missouri was transported to the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla for treatment of a gunshot wound. She was subsequently flown to University Medical Center in Columbia and later pronounced dead at 2008 hours by the attending physician.
During the early stages of the investigation, it was determined an individual, who was present during the shooting incident, was a convicted felon and had been in possession of a firearm.
On December 24, 2017, Dallas T. Hogue, age 26 of St. James, Missouri was arrested on Lynwood Drive in Rolla, Missouri for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. His bond was set at $50,000.00.
An autopsy was performed on December 26, 2017. The cause of death was due to a single gunshot wound to the upper torso, however, the manner of death has yet to be determined.
A joint investigation by the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, Phelps County Coroner, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol into this death is on-going.”
