LEBANON, Missouri- On Tuesday a Lebanon Police K9 helped jailers confirm that marijuana was smuggled by an inmate into the detention facility, according to a police report.
Upon arrival at the Laclede County Jail, the officer said he and the K9 were directed to G-Pod by staff and conducted a building sniff with the detection dog.
“The K9 while checking cells alerted on the desk area and sat in cell number 2,
which is his indication of narcoticsodor,” the officer said in the report.
Later, the officer was advised by jailers that this was the cell the suspect was housed and had smuggled the marijuana.
Jail staff also said a contraband lighter had been removed from the cell by the inmate prior to the search and was found in his possession.
An agency assist report was completed by police.
