OSAGE BEACH, Missouri- Local police and a restaurant came to the aid of an elderly traveler until her family could arrive.

Several weeks ago Osage Beach  officers were dispatched to a call of a wrong way driver on the parkway near Hwy 42, police say. Officer Haycook found the vehicle and determined the driver was an older female who was confused and traveling from Fulton to Springfield. Officer Light got in touch with  her family in Springfield and after being medically cleared by ambulance staff, it was decided to have her wait for her loved ones at Dierbergs’ Restaurant.

“Once at the store, Officer Haycook spoke with store management and offered to pay for lunch for the lady. Dierbergs’ management refused to take the Officers money and provided a hot meal to her while another store employee helped her by charging her phone so she would be able to call her family, ” the Osage Beach Police Department says.
