TORONTO SPRINGS, Missouri- A Richland motorcyclist was airlifted for treatment after he apparently collided with a deer on Route A Sunday evening.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Donald L. Tanner Jr., 55, suffered serious injuries when he hit the deer and was thrown from the 2008 Honda CRX. He traveled off the left side of roadway in the accident, the report says.
Tanner was flown by the Staff for Life helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.
Friends say Tanner was out on a ride with a buddy when he collided with the ten-point buck.
Troopers say he was wearing a helmet.
The motorcycle was totaled in the wreck.
Trooper Blankenbecker responded to the crash at 7:05 p.m.
