Road Work for Mid-Missouri
April 6 – April 17, 2015

JEFFERSON CITY – The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of April 6-17, 2015. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

Daylight/Evening Hours
Occasional striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

Boone County
Daylight Hours
Gilmore Lane between Route 63 and the end of state maintenance – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, April 6.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route V between Route U and Anchorman Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, April 7.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route WW between Legion Lane and Grindstone Creek – Roadside maintenance will take place Wednesday, April 8 and Thursday, April 9.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E over Rocky Fork, north of Wilcox Road AND
Route E over Perche Creek, south of Driskel  Road – Bridge deck replacement continues. Both bridges are closed during the work.

  • This week’s activities:  Route E closed on Monday, March 16 for bridge deck replacement on the Perche Creek and Rocky Fork Creek bridges (locally known as the twin bridges).  The signed detours are as follows:  Northbound Route E: West on Interstate 70, north on Route J, east on Route 124, south on Route E.  Southbound Route E: West on Route 124, south on Route J, east on Interstate 70.  The bridges are expected to reopen to traffic by June 5, 2015.

Camden County

Route 5 in Sunrise Beach – Roadway widening continues.
* Crews will continue grading work to prepare for the construction of an additional lane. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route A between Route 7 and Route 54 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route 242 and Route TT – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 54 and County Road Y-30 – Resurfacing and shoulder work continues.
* Asphalt placement for the new two-foot-wide shoulders is planned for the week of April 6.

* Resurfacing of the current roadway will take place the week of April 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in June.

Lake Road 54-82 between Route 54 and Old Route 54 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Cole County

Route 54 over the Missouri River Bridge – Bridge inspection in the eastbound lanes will take place the week of April 6. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Overnight Hours
Business Route 50 (Missouri Blvd) at Delaware Road – Utility work in the Westbound lanes will take place Monday, April 6. One westbound lane will be closed from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange – Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.
* Elm Street will be permanently closed from East of Lafayette Street.

* Lafayette will be closed from East Elm Street to East Miller Street from 7 a.m. on Monday, April 6 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10 to install storm water pipes on Lafayette Street.

* The Chestnut Street bridge is closed until completion in the summer. The Jackson Street Bridge will remain closed until completion in August 2016.

Route 179 between Interstate 70 and Route EE in Moniteau County – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 16. The road will be closed between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Motorists are asked to seek an alternate route around the work area.

Crawford County
Daylight Hours

Route N between Interstate 44 and Route 185 in Washington County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route T between Route 8 and the end of state maintenance – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Interstate 44 North Outer Road (Frontage Road) between Route J and Route FF – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Dent County

Route J between Route 32 and Route 72 – Pavement and drainage improvements continue.
* Work on the side road approaches and entrances will take place the week of April 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route K between Route 19 and the Shannon County line – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, April 6 through Thursday, April 16. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Gasconade County
