LACLEDE COUNTY, Missouri- 21 year old Cole Matthews of Rolla is facing numerous charges after allegedly driving his 2009 Ford Mustang 110 MPH while intoxicated and causing a crash Sunday morning. He is being held in the Laclede County Jail.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a crash occurred as Matthews rear-ended a car occupied by several members of Tulsa family. Cole ran off the roadway after striking the other vehicle and came to rest on an embankment. The incident occurred in the westbound I-44 lane at Mile Marker 120 near Phillipsburg.
Injured in the collision were:
Gabriel D. Presley, 32, who was driving the impacted vehicle. he suffered minor injuries.
Hannah M. Presley, 28, who suffered serious injuries.
Rosemary R. Presley, 1, who suffered minor injuries.
They were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Both vehicles were totaled in the wreck.
Matthews was arrested and is facing possible charges of Felony Assault- 2nd degree, 1st DWI-alcohol, Careless and Imprudent Driving, Speeding 110 MPH in a 70 Zone, and No Seat Belt. He is on a 24 hour hold at the jail pending a possible warrant.
