ROLLA, Missouri- A multi-vehicle crash killed a Rolla man and resulted in three other injuries Monday on Highway 72 near Fugitive Beach.
James Finazzo, 67, who was on a 2010 Harley Davidson died as a result of crash, his body was transported to James and Gahr Funeral Home.
Donald Ware, 60, who was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson was airlifted to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the fatality crash happened as Finazzo and Ware were stopped in the roadway attempting to make a left hand turn and 50 year old Jerry Huskey from O’Fallon struck them from behind. Debris from the crash hit a vehicle driven by Lisa Jo Haller of Rolla.
Huskey was taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla for treatment of moderate injuries before being jailed. He is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter, 2nd degree assault, possession with intent to distribute meth, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident and no insurance according to troopers. He is being held in the Phelps County Jail.
Trooper Cpl. McCurdy responded to the scene at 12:11 p.m.
The Phelps County Sheriff’s Office, The Dent County Sheriff’s Office, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Rolla Police Department, Rolla Rural Fire Department, and other MSHP troopers assisted.
