ST. LOUIS, Missouri- A St. Louis County police officer was reportedly shot in north St. Louis County Thursday night.
The incident occurred in Castle Point around 10:30 p.m. however the specifics of the shooting have not been made public. The unidentified officer suffered non-life threatening injuries. The shooter remains at large.
This shooting comes after the October 6th slaying of 33-year-old St. Louis County police officer Blake Snyder. He was responding to a disturbance on the 10700 block of Arno Drive in Green Park, Missouri, shortly in the morning hours.He and another officer had arrived at the scene of a reported disturbance and were met with gunfire immediately. Officer Snyder was shot at point blank and died at the scene. The second officer was able to return fire and wounded the subject.
Trenton Forster has been charged in the death of Officer Snyder. The death penalty is possible. This is the first time an officer with the St. Louis County Police Department has died in the line of duty in almost 16 years.
Ballwin police officer Michael Flamion suffered permanent injury after a July shooting.
