LACLEDE COUNTY, Missouri- A tractor trailer overturned injuring the driver on I-44 near Sleeper after being stuck by a car that lost control while passing Tuesday afternoon. The collision occurred at the 138 mm.

Thomir Stoyanov, 44, of Arlington Heights, Illinois was taken to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was the operator of the 2004 Volvo tractor trailer that was hit by a Volvo sedan driven by Evan Brader, 22, of Ballwin, Missouri. Brader was not hurt.

Troopers say after the westbound Brader car went off the left side of  the roadway during his attempt to pass Stoyanov, he returned to the roadway and struck the semi. This caused the rig to go off the right side and hit an embankment. The tractor trailer overturned, coming to a rest on I-44 facing the opposite direction.

The semi was demolished in the crash and towed.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Trooper Mizer responded at 2:20 p.m. and was assisted in the accident investigation by Lt. Davis, Sgt. Arnold, Cpl. Clement, Trooper Smith, Trooper Southwood, and Trooper Pfieffer.
