LACLEDE COUNTY, Missouri- Laclede County Sheriff David Millsap says the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group had a busy 2017. The task force serves Laclede, Camden, Crawford, Gasconade and Maries County, along with Lebanon, Osage Beach, Camdenton, Belle, Cuba, Hermann, Leasburg and Steelville. The task force seized nearly 2 million dollars in narcotics, conducted 397 investigations, served 91 search warrants, made 75 under cover buys and made 198 arrest during in 2017.
In Laclede County the task force served 22 search warrants, conducted 40 consent search and made 26 drug buys. Those numbers only include investigations initiated by LANEG, and does not included drug arrest or search warrants conducted by Laclede County deputies, Lebanon police officers, Conway police officers or local troopers of the Missouri Highway Patrol.
“I have been very pleased with the efforts of LANEG in Laclede County. The task force spends a significant amount of time on long term investigations, that I believe will make a dent in the distribution of narcotics in our county. The task force devotes one full time task force officer to the county and a state trooper, assigned from the MSHP Division of Drug and Crime Control, spends a significant amount time working narcotic cases in Laclede County under the supervision of the LANEG ,” said Sheriff David Millsap.
“We are very lucky in Laclede County to have a task force that works hand in hand with the various departments, and that we have information being shared between agencies in the County to ensure we are targeting those distributing illegal narcotics in this community,” Millsap added.
