MONETT, Missouri- Just two weeks after a 2 year-old child died from an unattended gun incident in a St. Joseph, Missouri apartment complex, another investigation is underway involving the gunshot death of a preschooler in Monett.

Police say they got a call at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning involving the unattended death at a residence in the 500 block of Pleasant. The victim who was found deceased from a gunshot wound is said to live at that address.

Police are at the scene investigating.

In the St. Joseph shooting, Alexzander Green was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. According to a probable cause statement, witnesses told officers Green was asleep and left a loaded gun unattended. Illegal drugs and a large amount of cash was also discovered by police. 2-year-old London Simmons died at the hospital of a gunshot wound to the chest.
