LEBANON, Missouri- The Lebanon R-III School District released a statement after an apparent incident involving the Lakers coaches and the Lebanon coaching staff. The details of altercation have not been published. Unconfirmed accounts from a witness says the event involved Camdenton students and head coach who took the field in post-game celebration and Lebanon coaches objected. The witness says words were exchanged and it allegedly became physical. A Lebanon coach took a swing at the Camdenton Coach Shore. No serious injuries resulted.
“Emotions often run high when the Yellowjackets face the Camdenton Lakers in sporting events due to our longstanding rivalry.
The Lebanon School District does not condone the events that transpired after Friday night’s (Sept. 1) football game, and continues to encourage good sportsmanship from our athletes, coaches, and fans. The Lebanon School District has worked in conjunction with the Camdenton School District to review the incident, and has taken appropriate action.”
The two Lebanon coaches directly involved in the incident received 10-day suspensions according to reports.
