LAURIE, Missouri– A Stover woman is dead following a Monday crash on Hwy 5. The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District said they worked the accident that involved an entrapment and a medical helicopter was called in to transport the victim.

Forrestine N. Holmes, 62, was flown in serious condition by Staff for Life to University of Missouri Hospital and later was pronounced deceased.

According to troopers, David L. Jantz, 58, of Barnett, Mo. was operating a 2009 Freightliner semi-truck and entered Highway 5 heading north from a private drive near Route O in Laurie when Holmes struck the trailer. The impact forced much of the front end of the SUV and a portion of the driver’s compartment underneath the flatbed.

Trooper Sears was assisted by the  MSHP Major Crash Team in the investigation.  The Laurie Police Department, Lake West Ambulance,  and the Gravois Fire Department were all on-scene.

The LPD, MSHP, SBFPD, Lake West Ambulance, Staff for Life, Gravois Fire and Sunrise Beach police all had personnel that helped work the scene.

This was Troop F’s 9th fatality for January 2017.
