Is there a war on police in Missouri and across America?
This week, two VERY different Missouri-based perspectives on that are featured. Former State Rep. Jeff Roorda is the author of The War on Police.
He’s also a former police detective and police chief. Roorda argues that protest movements, including #BlackLivesMatter, and media that is often hostile to police make us all less safe.
ACLU of Missouri Executive Director Jeffrey Mittman says we need more oversight of law enforcement because, he says, minorities are often unfairly targeted by police.
Mittman discusses their support for the “Fourth Amendment Protection Act”, which has been introduced in the State Senate by Jamilah Nasheed (D) and in the State House by State Representative Shamed Dogan (R).
