URBANA, Missouri-  The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a teenager is dead and another hospitalized after a Sunday night crash near Urbana in Hickory County.

The deceased driver has been identified as Savannah Green, 16, of Urbana. She was pronounced dead at Citizens Memorial Hospital by Dr. Riley. Her body has been taken to Cantlon, Otterness, Veits Funeral Home in Buffalo, Missouri. The report says she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

“On December 30th, 2018 16 year old Savannah Green was tragically taken away from us in a fatal car accident. Her family, friends and the entire community mourn her loss. Savannah was a sweet, loving, and beautiful soul who touched many people. Her parents Kenny and Vera Green appreciate any and all help that can be offered during this time of grief,” a GoFundMe account established by Kasie Grunow said. It has raised $385.00 out of a goal of $8,000.

Her Facebook page said she enjoyed volleyball and cheerleading. She was homeschooled.

Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday at 11 am at Urbana First Baptist Church, 207 West Broadway St.

McKenzie Hash, 17, of Preston suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.

Troopers say Green ran off County Road 302 and overturned in a 2017 Chevrolet 2500 pickup.
