HOUSTON, Missouri – The Missouri State Highway Patrol says troopers arrested Texas County Sheriff James Sigman, 48, and Lieutenant Deputy Jennifer Tomaszewski, 38, Wednesday afternoon.

Both have been charged with; Felony Assault First Degree, Felony Robbery First Degree, Felony Endangering the Welfare of a Child First Degree, Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Felony Harassment, Felony Endangering Welfare of a Child 2nd Degree, Misdemeanor Misuse of Official Information by a Public Servant, and Misdemeanor False Impersonation.

A search warrant had been executed earlier this year and the investigation was turned over to Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Over 40 of the agency’s employees have been fired or quit in the past year.

Sigman was elected in 2012 and his term expires on Dec. 31, 2019. Jennifer Tomaszewski was hired in 2016.
