ROLLA, Missouri- The St. Louis teen who was rescued by lifeguards at The Fugitive Beach on August 8th after a near-drowning incident has died. This is the second fatality for the popular swimming spot this year.

David K. Jackson, 19, has been in intensive care unit at Mercy Hospital after originally being transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

The owners of the park situated on an abandoned quarry have instituted a personal flotation device policy following the tragedies.

“We are asking for prayers and a miracle healing for David age 19 of St. Louis who was swimming at the beach and was recovered from under the water. David was transported to the hospital where he remains in intensive care.

Our Heavenly Father the one and only true god, we pray for a miracle that only you can bring. We pray for Davids full recovery, for him to be back with his family and friends. Father we pray for his family to be comforted in these times. We pray for all the responders and employees at the beach. In Jesus name we pray. Amen,” park owners said in a statement after the teen was pulled from the water.

Over $27,000 was raised by a GoFundMe account to help with Jackson’e medical expenses.
