GASCONADE COUNTY, Missouri- 52 year-old Susan Fritz from Owensville was killed in a single-vehicle crash north of Drake Thursday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the northbound Fritz went off the right side of MO 19 and overcorrected, she then re-entered the roadway and began to skid, travelling off the roadway again. She then struck a culvert, overturned and was thrown from the Toyota Camry. She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt according the MSHP report. She was pronounced deceased by Coroner Ben Grosse.
Fritz was taken to Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
Trooper Hane responded at 2:34 p.m. and was assisted by other MSHP officers and the Gasconade Sheriff’s Office.
Troop F has investigated 10 fatality accidents this month alone, and 52 this year.
Susan Fritz had been featured in a St. Louis Post-Dispatch story after a class ring was returned to her husband, Leo, after being lost for 36 years.
