“Cody loved motorcycles and motor cross.”

ST. JOSEPH, Missouri- Duane Marshall, the uncle of Missouri Air National Guardsman Cody Harter shared the following post today about his loss. Cody Harter, 23, of St. Joseph was fatally stabbed about 7:30 p.m. Saturday along northbound Missouri 291 at the merger of Interstate 470 in Lee’s Summit.

“As I am sure you have seen on the news. A young man was stabbed to death in Lee’s Summit. That man was/is my Nephew Cody Harter. Cody was a member of the 139th Airlift Wing Missouri National Guard and served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. As well as domestic service with the floods in Texas. Saturday evening about 7:30 Cody was murdered. (Cody’s) service will be at Word of Life Church in St. Joseph, Missouri Friday at 10 am. Cody loved motorcycles and motor cross. My sisters are concerned that because news of his death has reached some National News networks that WBC could come and protest. They are asking that if anyone is interested to come and not only shield the family but have bikes there which was something Cody loved. This is not a charity ride and there is no “entry fee” at all. Just a show of support. If anyone is able we will gather Friday in front of Texas Road house and ride to the Church. Then to the grave site. Thank you in advance if you can come. If not your prayers for Kerrie is very welcomed. We will meet at Texas Road House 925 N Belt Hwy, St Joseph, MO 64506. KSU at 9:30.”
