ROLLA, Missouri- A 60 year-old man was struck and killed by a motorist that left the scene of the incident early this morning. It happened just outside the Fort Leonard Wood military reservation, southwest of Rolla.
The Missouri State Highway says Bobby Cooley was pronounced deceased by Dr. Olusan, and next of kin have been notified. He had been transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.

Troopers say the incident happened when Cooley was walking eastbound on Hwy CC and the left front of a vehicle struck him. The vehicle then left the roadway travelling into a ditch and hitting some trees before it fled the scene. A description of the involved vehicle was not immediately available.
Trooper Cpl McCurdy responded at 3:41 a.m. and was assisted by other MSHP personnel, sheriff’s deputies and ambulance, the report said.
