Verna Irene Bottoms, daughter of Ray and Vivian F. Boston Everett, was born September 20, 1931, near Orla, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, June 8, 2018, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, eight months, and eighteen days.

On January 14, 1961, she was united in marriage to Bremon Elmo Bottoms, and to this union one son was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bremon, on January 20, 2000; a brother; and her twin sister.
Verna is survived by a son, Jimmy Bottoms, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Ben and Christopher; three step-grandchildren, Andrew, Andrea, and Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Charley and Carl; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

She was born and raised in the Orla community area, and graduated from Lebanon High School. She then worked for the Rice-Stix Factory for a few years. After she and Bremon were married, they made their home in Kansas City, Missouri, for several years, where Verna worked as a secretary and also was a devoted homemaker. She and Bremon later returned to Lebanon and made their home.
Verna had made her profession of faith in Christ and attended the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.

She also belonged to the T.O.P.S. Club and was very active in that organization for several years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and several quilting clubs. She was very skilled in making quilts and had taught several quilting classes. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors.
Verna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
